The Trip of a Lifetime
We are thrilled and excited to share the news that we've been invited to serve as food guides for a special Curated Touring
trip to Tuscany
this September 29 through October 6. Whether you've always dreamed of Florence and never been or you want to experience Florence in a whole new way, art historians Meagan Green Labunski and Matthew Woodworth has crafted a trip of a lifetime. Erase any preconceptions about herding sheep and large buses; this is an intimate experience for 12-20 people max - largely due to the exclusive access it allows us. From a completely private evening at the Uffizi Gallery, a cocktail reception at Orsanmichele, and a private visit to a "wine castle" (which is closed to the public but has agreed to open for a special tasting for our group) to a host of other events
you can't normally pay for, you'll have 4 certified, award-winning guides curating your experience - from art to architecture, from food to the Tuscan lifestyle. Speaking of which, we've arranged special excursions to Siena, San Gimignano, and Pienza to name a few. Want to have some alone time? Great, we've even scheduled "create your own adventure" time or join along on one of ours. (John can't wait to lead a walking historical gelato tour to taste the best of the city's offerings.) The window of opportunity is closing soon, so let us know if you're interested in chatting or learning more
. And while this trip isn't for everyone, remember that you can always come taste cheese with us for free, or take one of our Taste of Spain, Italy, or France classes coming up this summer. Appreciations to you and to Curated Touring for the opportunity of a lifetime!

In The Shop - Beer Tasting!
This week in the Cheese Shop we're celebrating American Craft Beer Week with Adelbert's Brewery based right here in Austin! Since 2011, Scott Hovey and his team have been crafting award-winning Belgian-style beers, and are recipients of four Craft Beer Awards Gold medals. In their North Austin brewery and taproom, Adelbert's uses only non-GMO barley, freshly propagated yeast, and a special brewing process called a "multi-temperature decoction mash", resulting in rich, diverse flavors from each of their specialty beers. We're currently featuring one of Adelbert's newest releases, Vagabonds of the Western World!
Named after Thin Lizzy's third studio album, Vagabonds of the Western World is a funky, malty and slightly tart Rustic Saison. Brewed with barley, oats, wheat and spelled, this low ABV delight is here just in time for the transition to those blazing Texas summers. When it comes to pairing tartness and funk, we love piling it on. A tulip of Vagabonds alongside an oozy, fudgy and mushroomy bite of Camembert Le Pommier from Herve Mons is a funktastic way to ease into those 100 degree days.
