Here's to those of you who have made us part of your holiday tradition for the past 8 years! Yes, we're offering a selection of cheeses, meats, and pairings in Small ($65) or Large ($115) for your Thanksgiving Cheese Course! Whether for consumption while you're cooking, as an appetizer, or even a savory dessert course, we're here to make your job easy and make you look like the hero. Order online for pickup Nov 25, 26, or 27 and SKIP THE LINE! Whether you're hosting or headed to Friendsgiving, bring the Cheese Course! Remember we have limited availability for our preorders since we order in a special selection not currently featured in our shop. If you're outside of Austin, we'll SHIP YOUR CHEESE COURSE; just get your order in by Sunday 11/24 by midnight, and we'll ship it on Mon 11/25.
(And for those of you who love bringing the fam and friends by to select your cheeses, we'll be in the shop all week leading up to the big ole Turkey Day for you to come in, taste, and get your cut-to-order cheeses!)
Spotlight on Nov Tastings
Wed 11/20 - FONDUE FOR 2! As part of our Interactive Dinner Series, join us for one of your last chances to enjoy Fondue for Two! Haven't made it in yet for this pot of ooey-gooey goodness? Grab a friend, neighbor, lover, or Bob in accounting (or you could just enjoy it all for yourself!). We start with a tasting of a flight of Alpine cheeses (with pairings) to taste them in their natural state. Then we explore the world of fondue with a little history lesson, while our signature blend of cheeses is melting. You'll get to dip potatoes, veggies, bread, and cured meat (if you're inclined) into the hot fondue. Then while you let that settle, we reset and heat up a chocolate fondue pot - complete with strawberries, marshmallows, and cookies for dipping. It's one heckuva night of belly-warming decadence! One ticket is good for two people; only 3 pairs left! Tix here.
Thu 11/21 - Cheese & Beer Pairing featuring Circle Brewing You might not know it but (shhh!!!) beer is one of our favorite pairings with cheese. And experts across the globe will tell you it's easier to find more delicious complimentary pairings in the beer and cheese worlds than with the traditional pairing of wine. Join us in the Cheese House for a 5-flight pairing of cheeses and beers. We'll explore different styles of each and what we look for as tasters when marrying flavors. Each will also come with an additional pairing and accompaniments like olives, nuts, and bread. Ticket details here.
Fri 11/22 - Rhythm and "Blues" featuring Soul Wagon Live music, various cheese tasting rounds, good vibes, good veins (blue veins, that is)...what's not to love?! Come hear local talent Soul Wagon play two sets with cheese tasting breaks scheduled between. We'll explore the world of blues. Did you know that some blue cheeses are actually very mild, or that some don't have any "blue" coloring in them at all? We'll be tasting our way through 5 diverse cheeses, even including a cheddar with a blue "vein." And as a special treat, one of those tastings will be of the cheese recently named and awarded the title of World's Best Cheese - the one and only seasonal Rogue River Blue (pictured here - really hard to get right now!). A couple of complimentary drinks are included if you'd like. Ticket information here.
