Unprecedented orders in unprecedented times!
AH! Austin! Cheese Shop Friends Near and Far! You are AMAZING! Truly! Due to increased demand, as well as challenging work conditions (ie smaller pods), we are working harder than ever this holiday season, and we are grateful for it! We shipped more boxes last week than all of December 2019. And we’re hosting 49 events in this five-day period. It’s crazy, exciting, exhausting, and needed. Thank you! But it also means we’re tweaking our offerings daily. Any purchases already made are good to go. If you don’t see something you did before online, it means we’ve shut down that for now. While we’re no longer accepting shipping orders for 2020 and are completely booked for private virtual events in December, there are still ways you can GET and GIFT your cheese! (And note, you can still order online to ship but we’ll be shipping it the first week of January. Check out our Shipping Policies and Details here or place your shipping order here.)
Gifts Still Available for Anywhere in Continental USA:
Cheese of the Month Club Subscription Available in 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions. We change up our selections yearly and rotate between Taste of Place, Meet the Maker, and One-of-a-Kind fun themes, like “Cheeses Made by the Sea,” “Cheeses Aged in Caves,” “All Award Winning Cheeses,” and more. There are also discounts for boxes picked up locally from the shop (instead of shipping). Orders placed through 12/31 will be shipped the second week of January. (We ship our monthly club the second week of each month.)
Gifts for Austin pickup or courier:
Cheese Trays We’ve been creating artisan cheese trays for a decade now. What makes our boards a little different? We craft our trays in our health-inspected kitchen. All items on our trays are made by folks we know and love (ie no bulk, industrially-sourced cheeses from big box stores). We always build our trays the morning they are enjoyed (ie no pre-cut pieces). Sometimes, that means our team shows up at 4am, just to make sure your cheese tastes the best it can. Our trays first and foremost feature the best cheese and meat we can source. Want in on the action?
Gift Boxes - Come in a kraft, stamped box with kraft crinkle paper and our custom “cheese care” instructions. Pricing ranges from $35-$125, including our popular Taste of Texas selection, as part of our Victory Cheese movement to keep the industry alive and donate to Cheese Culture Coalition.
January Cheese Class Tickets (or a class gift card)
From classes on a Taste of Spain, Italy, or France, to Perfect Pairing classes with Preserves, Pickles, and Cured Meats, and the list goes on. We are loving coming to you virtually almost daily with fun and educational cheese tasting experiences. We’re even launching a few dairy-free events in January - like an all meat class! So check it out. Not sure which date to gift? Then give an electronic gift card. (Note: These are for folks in Austin who can pick up or courier a plate; not available for shipping.)
CHEESE SHOP! Don’t forget you can just keep shopping your fave local cheese shop like you always have. Select what you like for personal consumption and/or build your own gift basket. You’ll find “gift basket” options, as well as shirts, new cheese boards, and knives under the “accessories” tab. Everything available for contactless curbside pickup or local courier.

Hiring: Wholesale Manager
We are so grateful to Alex Palomo, our outgoing wholesale rep, responsible for getting your fave cheeses, meats, and artisan goods into hundreds of restaurants, breweries/wineries, caterers, and retailers across Central Texas. He’s also been a driving force in our business for representing and growing Texas makers. Thanks Alex! (But more love for you another day.) That means we’re hiring - and moving quickly - to fill the role of Wholesale Manager. We are already in interviews with great candidates, so if you’re interested, qualified, and eligible, apply asap (like today!) thorough our Indeed listing. Sales, cheese, and industry experience required.
Charitable Cheese Cause - Green Corn Project
Today - Monday 12/14 - we’re donating 5% of all retail sales to Green Corn Project, dedicated to helping Central Texans in need grow their own organic vegetables. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, GCP installs organic food gardens for elderly, low-income, and disabled community members as well as for elementary schools, community centers, and shelters in underserved areas of Austin. They turn unused land into garden beds that provide food, education, and a sense of accomplishment and pride for all involved in their creation and maintenance. Help us live our #DoGoodEatGood mission; make a purchase online today and it will support our #CharitableCheeseCause!
Dec & Jan Virtual Tastings
Local: Our complete December schedule is below, and we’ve also gotten a jump start on our January schedule. That way, you can gift tickets to a cheese class if you want! You can search by class topic here or by date here (scroll down and click on the date). Questions? Check out our most frequently asked questions here.
Outside Austin: While we can’t ship you our cheese class plate, you CAN still take a virtual cheese tasting with us. Check out our Cheese Class in a Box, available for nationwide shipping in the continental USA. Each box has enough goodies to feed up to 4 folks (or leftovers for 1 person!), comes with a 10-min plating video, and an hour-long guided tasting led by John and me (Kendall). Folks can simply enjoy everything at their own leisure or take the included class. (Note that any orders made online now will be shipped the first week of January.) Current selections include:
