The Basics of Cheese 

If you are a new hire and have not yet taken this internal Staff Training, then we ask you to sign up for this training.  It is also open to all team members who have already taken this training, but would like a refresher.

In this Staff Training, you will be covering the foundational cheese information that is essential to the success of all team members at Antonelli's Cheese.  The training will cover topics ranging from cheesemaking to categorization to definitions and key terms.  You will be using the internal document, Cheese 101 Talking Points, as a guide through this class with instruction by Casie Wiginton, ACS Certified Cheese Professional.  

In addition, we will have a cheese plate available for you to pick up from the shop starting at 10 am on Tuesday, January 25, if you would like a physical and delicious demonstration plate for the class.

Pickup - Visit our Walk Up window to pick up your cheese plate during your designated pickup slot noted in your reminder email.

Local Delivery - Choose local delivery at checkout and we’ll schedule a drop off to bring it to the location of your choice.

The morning of your event, we will send a reminder email that includes the virtual link to the event. A few minutes before the event starts, open the email and click on the Zoom link provided. Need help? FROM MOBILE or FROM COMPUTER.

If your tasting event is about to start and you have technical questions, please call 512-333-2344.

Order online today and add “Wine for Virtual Cheese Class on (Date)” into the order notes. We’ll have it ready at the pickup window along with your cheese plate (or delivered through courier if you selected that add-on option).

Bubbles are always our favorite pairing with cheese, including sparkling water, sodas, ciders, beer, and sparkling wines. Looking for specific wine pairings? A nice Sauvignon Blanc or light bodied red such as a Pinot Noir are always wonderful options!

Expect the tasting to be about 45 min, followed by a 15 min Q&A. We encourage you to have your camera on to enjoy the full experience. If you have questions throughout the tasting, type them in the chat box and your mongers will answer them. It is an interactive, fun, and educational way to engage in the community. We look forward to getting cheese-y with you!

In order to avoid product damage and reduced quality, we do not ship cheese event plates or cheese trays at this time.

For your convenience and to avoid wait times in the Cheese Shop, online orders should be picked up at our Pickup Window, located directly behind our cheese shop in the alley between Uncle Nicky’s and Julio’s. To avoid congestion, please do not pick up in the Cheese Shop.

Please plan to pick up your tray at your selected pickup time, noting we have a designated pickup window open daily from 11am-7pm.
