We regularly offer cheese tastings and classes in the Cheese House, and we are always looking for opportunities to get involved with the community and co-host events with other great local businesses. We'll continue to strive to bring you the most unique cheese-related events in Austin. Tues, Feb 3, Wild Wheels (6:30-8:30pm): It's cold out and we're craving the richest, most robust, meaty cheeses out there. That's right folks, it's that time of year to celebrate the wildest of the wheels. Get ready for a flavor-packed lineup of the most savory washed-rinds, the spiciest blues, the earthiest Alpine styles. All with reccommended pairings of burly beers and woodsy red wines offered by our Shop, and paired with decadent charcuterie, wine-laden mustards, and boozy caramels. Mon, Feb 9, PIG CRAWL! (5-8pm): This February, Antonelli’s Cheese is thrilled to be celebrating its 5th Anniversary, and we plan to celebrate in style. Acclaimed charcuterie producer Herb Eckhouse of La Quercia (Iowa) will be flying in just to host a super-special, first of its kind event with Antonelli’s Cheese. Upon collaborating this past summer, John and Kendall Antonelli proposed a “Pig Crawl” to Herb and the concept has blossomed into our kick-off event for our week of celebrations. At each stop on our crawl, our exclusive group will munch on a prepared plate that highlights a La Quercia product, along with a beverage pairing. At each restaurant, our host will explain the pairing and Herb will talk about the featured meat. Our stops include awesome collaborating restaurants Gardner, qui, East Side Showroom, and Easy Tiger! Mix and mingle with Herb, Antonelli's cheesemongers, esteemed chefs, and fellow foodies as we crawl our way down East 6th St. We'll end the night with a pairing at Easy Tiger where Herb will conclude our crawl with bonus hand-sliced bites of bone-in Acorn Edition Spallacia! Tues, Feb 10, Pizza Party at The ABGB! (6-8pm): On the eve of our 5th birthday, nothing seems more fitting than - you guessed it - a giant pizza party at our friends' place! We have been so lucky and honored to collaborate with the fine folks of The ABGB, and this event promises to be even zanier, yummier, and grander than anything before. Please join us for this delicious celebration, as Cheesemonger Maddie and our ABGB pals serve up specialty pies, featuring the fanciest of our cheeses and cured meats and paired with the phenomenal brews from our hosts. We will be on hand to talk through the spotlighted cheeses and to chat cooking with cheese and charcuterie, and the ABGB team will lead you through their recipes, inspirations, and any other pizza/beer nerd trivia your heart desires. Wed, Feb 11, Antonelli's Cheese House Party (6:30-9pm): This February 11th, Antonelli's Cheese celebrates 5 years as Austin's cheese shop, and it is all thanks to you. Of course it wouldn't be us if we didn't celebrate in style! Please join us on the big day for a first-of-its-kind party at the Cheese House, as we ring in this landmark anniversary. Over the course of the evening, the Antonelli's Events Team will be passing composed sweet and savory pairings hand-picked by our phenomenal cheesemongers. There will be live music, a couple of raffle prizes to go around, and complimentary bubbles. You are welcome to come and go as you please from the party, so the start time is not as strict as with classes - it's a party, for cryin' out loud! Come mix and mingle with your fellow cheese lovers! But oh, that's not all. It's because of your support that we've made it to 5, and also because of the incredible support and encouragement of our wonderful colleagues in the Austin food community. Tues, Feb 17, Taste of Place: France (6:30-8:30pm): Our Taste of Place series features a different country and a carefully curated selection of its cheeses. This time around we're excited to feature beautiful cheeses from France! We will guide you through a tasting of classics alongside newcomers, all accompanied by olives & nuts, as well as Easy Tiger bread and sparkling water for palate cleansers. Sat, Feb 21, Antonelli's Cheese at Middleton Brewing (6-8pm): Come celebrate the new Middleton Brewing location with a beer and cheese pairing! Toast the new year and their new space that opened in October with five delectable cheeses that will accompany five of their fine brews. Cheeses will range from ooey gooey and creamy to crystalline and nutty, and beers will run the gamut from light and crisp to toasty and malty. A representative from Middleton and Antonelli's will both be there to guide the tasting, speaking to the process and stories behind everything you'll taste.
