St. Andrew's Parent Inclusion Committee BOOK CLUB
Hello St. Andrew's Community-
We're excited to come together once again, informally, over a good book that in some way embraces and values difference, encourages belonging, explores intersectionality, and informs on unique individual lived experiences, to name a few!
For the 2024-2025 academic year, here are our chosen books and dates. Please note that all events are on Mondays from 6:30-8:00pm in Lamar Union.
-
Nov 4: The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why it Matters by Priya Parker
-
Jan 27: Burro Genius by Victor Villasenor
-
March 31: I Never Thought of it That way by Monica Guzman
Some disclaimers/notes:
We haven't read these books! They just came highly recommended in some way, shape, or form, so we're going to learn together.
We encourage challenging conversation, giving grace, and looking for best intent while learning from each other.
Didn't get to read the book despite your best effort? Great! Come on and enjoy some community and good conversation. While we do talk about the book, it also naturally leads to discussions about our own St. Andrew's community and relevant topics.
You do not have to officially RSVP, but it does help give Kendall Antonelli a headcount of how many nibbles to provide (cheese, charcuterie, and veggies), as well as how many bubbles to supply (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic!).
