A Taste of Spring!
Easter, Passover, and Spring Celebrations
Whether you observe this coming weekend as part of your spiritual practice or Easter signals to you the arrival of spring, we’ve got some fun ways to honor the week.
2nd Annual Easter Candy & Cheese Class - Thur 4/1 Reese’s Eggs, Cadbury Eggs, Jelly Beans, and (gulp) even Peep’s...we love pairing iconic and nontraditional Easter candy with cheese. Last year, this was our most attended virtual event. Whether it’s just you or the whole fam, we hope you’ll join John, the kids (for whatever part they’ll participate in), and me for our “Facebook Live with the Antonellis.” Get tickets today, pickup (or deliver) Thurs 1-5, and then join us live at 6pm. OR, you can also access the video anytime later that evening on our Facebook page.
Trays From our classic Cheeses, Cured Meats, & Treats Trays to our Vegetarian Cheese Trays to Charcuterie (Dairy-Free) Trays, we’ve got a number of options to help you celebrate this crisp, beautiful spring weather. We’ve also got a Veggie Platter (with creme fraiche dip) and a Honeycomb Crunch Tray (with a square of comb and marcona almonds). You can view all our Cheese Tray options here, and remember, you can order now for future pickup dates. Of note, while we occasionally have ability for same day orders, we ask that you order by midnight the day before intended pickup. (And we won’t have any extras for Easter Sunday.) Time to order!
Special Sunday Hours NEW: Our curbside is open from 9-2 on Sunday for preorders only. Want a fresh, cut-to-order cheese tray for Easter Sunday? Or your own curated selection of goods to make your own spread at home? You can have it! Just order asap, and you can pick up during this short window on Sunday.
Today, East Cheese for a Cause!
Today is our monthly #CharitableCheeseCause Day, when we donate 5% of shop revenue to a local nonprofit. This month, we’re featuring and supporting the work of The Nourish Foundation, an organization dedicated to solving food insecurity by empowering communities through education, opportunity, and support. Remember, when you purchase online for curbside, you can select today or any future date (with availability) for a pickup. So order your Easter Cheese Trays today and you’ll be supporting a great cause.
Hit The Open Road - Hiring!
Thanks for your referrals for our open positions. We’ve got a lot of interviews lined up this week for shop cheesemongers, but we’re still on the hunt for a Delivery Driver. Love dining out and want to peer into kitchens where the magic happens? That insider access comes with the job! Or perhaps you love just hitting the open road every once in a while to clear your head. We do regular pickups and deliveries to Hill Country, San Antonio, Waco, and even Dallas. So if you want to work with an awesome team, hauling cheese and representing good food makers, be a part of a mission driven company to #DoGoodEatGood, and love independent time on the road, this is the job for you! Did we mention it’s a great one to get or stay in shape? And you get to drive this sweet ride?! When someone asks, “Who Moved My Cheese?” - you can proudly proclaim, “I did.” This position could be PT or FT, but is currently scheduled for Mon, Tues, Wed and every other Fri. All team members receive paid vacation and sick time, Employee Assistance Program access to 24/7/365 mental and physical therapists, free class tickets, and discounted products. Interested? Flavors of Spring - Fresh Cheeses
We’ve got a plethora of Burrata and Mozzarella di Bufala in house! As we move from winter to spring produce, don’t forget that fresh seasonal veggies are great with these fresh cheeses. They can make a meal in themselves or be a wonderful appetizer or side. You can also grill your veggies, drizzle them in EVOO (yes, we sell Con’Olio extra virgin olive oil too!), and sprinkle with flake sea salt. Burrata is originally an Italian cheese hailing from Puglia. It’s a mozzarella ball but wrapped around fresh creme, so when you cut into it, it oozes out. Translated from Italian, the name means “buttery” which explains the decadent taste. Another iconic Italian cheese is Mozzarella di Bufala, traditionally coming from the Campania region just northwest of Puglia. Made from the milk of water buffalo, this special mozz is creamier, more flavorful and nuanced, and tangier. Both of our cheeses are made by Calabro Cheese, started by Italian immigrant Joseph Calabro and his father Salvatore after they emigrated to the US in 1948, post WWII. These cheeses have received multiple awards and we’re sure will bring you just as much happiness as they have us! (And note - Bee Tree fresh goat milk cheeses coming soon!)
